The JabbaWockeeZ is a male dance troupe originally from San Diego, established in 2003, created by Joe Larot, Kevin Brewer and Phil Tayag. The group gained fame by appearing on America's Got Talent before winning the MTV hip hop dance reality seriesAmerica's Best Dance Crew on March 27, 2008. The crew has won $100,000 and a touring contract after being crowned as America's Best Dance Crew in season one. They are known for wearing plain white masks and gloves and performing synchronized dance moves. Since winning America's Best Dance Crew, the group has gone on to greater fame by appearing in several Gatorade commercials and performing with Phoenix Suns center Shaquille O'Neal at the 2009 NBA All-Star Game. Their name is derived from the Lewis Carroll poem Jabberwocky.
The eight original members are: Phil Tayag, Kevin Brewer, Joseph Larot, Rynan Paguio, Chris Gatdula, Randy Bernal, Ryan Ellis, and Gary Kendall. The four added members are: Ben Chung, Phi Nguyen, Saso Jimenez, and Eddie Gutierrez. The member that passed away was Gary Kendall. Joe, Phil and KB are also known to be as "The Three Musky".
JabbaWockeeZ (JBWKZ), Boogie Monstarz (BMZ), Press P.L.A.Y (P.P), and Super Galactic Beat Manipulators (SGBM) created the dance family named, "Family Royale". JabbaWockeeZ members are the most influential because they are known to be as the founder, mentor, choreographer, and director of "Family Royale".
